An Aria Begins
An aria begins. No announcement, no stage — just a trained operatic voice cutting through the room, unamplified if the space allows, and every conversation stops mid-sentence. Then, mid-phrase, the singer steps towards his partner, takes her hand, and the aria becomes a bachata. He keeps singing. They keep dancing. Two art forms your guests have almost certainly never seen together, delivered at once, by the same performer.
This isn't a singer with dancers behind him, or dancers to a recording. It's one act: a professional opera singer with more than twenty years of experience performing at the highest levels of theatre, singing live while leading a full bachata duet with his partner. The physical control it takes to sustain operatic phrasing through turns, dips and body movement is exactly what makes the room lean in — it looks impossible, and it's happening two metres away.
We are Oscar & Boadicea, the couple behind Rogue Bachata, London's bachata school — which means the dancing carries the same standard as the singing. The repertoire is shaped to your crowd, from full opera arias to popular crossover pieces, and can be adjusted in tone, language and length to fit the moment you want it to create.
