Ground in yourself, listen to your partner, expand into the space
Your center of gravity travels on a continuous, unbroken path
Stop the movement, find each other, then redirect together
When bodies meet, rebound elastically or redirect
Surrender your movement when connection is lost; seek the partner before continuing
Relaxed and lazy, yet in time—a paradox found in both music and dance
Listen to your partner instead of performing at them. It's really just connection.
Stay in the contact long enough to feel your partner, instead of passing through it.
It's not about independent balance, it's about couple balance.
Pathways you can travel freely with a partner, instead of a fixed set of steps.

"As a trained solo dancer, this was very refreshing for me because I learned about connection with partners, listening to partners, and developing improvised dance from that."
★★★★★
"This class and social are different because the teachers spend the whole night dancing with every student no matter what, whether they are beginners or improvers or experienced dancers. And especially Bo, the lady teacher, dancing with every beginner guy, and that is something which is a great privilege for anybody who's a beginner leader."
We write about bachata technique, connection principles, and what actually happens on our dance floors — here are three of our latest posts.
